04/08/2010Cityjet Jets in for Ladies Day!
Last Thursday saw a new arrival at Galway Airport in time for Ladies Day at the races!
The Irish International Business Network (IIBN) which is a networking organisation for London based Irish business people chartered a Cityjet RJ85 jet and flew in 95 members and their guests from London City Airport especially for Ladies Day.
The charter arrived from London City Airport at Galway Airport at 11am from where all passengers were transferred by coach to the race course and while on route received their tickets and race cards for the day's racing so on arrival at the race course all were well prepared for betting action!!
After the day's racing was finished the coaches then returned to the airport at 7pm and the visitors were back on their way home to London City Airport by 8.30pm and all were well satisfied with their day out!
Ms Helen Breen, Marketing Executive, Cityjet said that as an Irish airline, it sought to offer the business community in the UK an Irish experience and the trip to the Galway Races was a tremendous success.
"Our client the Irish International Business Network brought their members and guests to the races for the first time. They were treated to a unique experience, one that will be remembered by them for a long time. A key element of the Galway Races experience was Cityjet's easy access into Galway through Galway Airport. Our clients were able to spend the day at the races and get them home that evening - a truly unique experience all round".
Speaking at Galway Airport, Fionuala Pender, Executive Director, IIBN said that "we are delighted to be here in Galway on its most famous racing day of all and having direct access to Galway City via the airport makes this trip possible for our members and their guests".
Michael Moloney, Marketing Manager, Galway Airport on seeing the visitors off on their home journey said "we were delighted to welcome the IIBN, their guests and Cityjet to Galway and I have no doubt that after the success of today's visit we will see them back here again next year".
