Galway Airport provides Air Traffic Control training for international students
19/04/2011On the 7th March 2011 Galway Air Traffic Control Services played host to two Spanish ATC students.
Galway Airport had been asked by ASTAC UK, the Air Traffic Control Training facility at Shoerahm Airport to facilitate two weeks of ATC Familiarisation with the ATC unit at Galway.
Both Students had completed their basic training and were now ready to experience the ‘'real thing''.
Sergio Ribera and Pablo Garcia joined the Galway ATC team on the 7th March and got some first hand experience of what Ireland and in particular Galway had to offer
The familiarisation included getting an introduction to local ATC procedures as well as becoming familiar with the local town lands etc.
Galway Airport is looking forward to developing the opportunity to host more students over the coming months.
