Press Statement

Thursday 4th November 2010

Galway Airport is pleased that Judge Finlay Geoghegan yesterday indicated that she will be confirming the modified scheme of arrangement in relation to the Aer Arann Examinership on Friday.

This is excellent news for our passengers who rely on air services from Galway Airport for business and leisure purposes.

Galway Airport has supported the Aer Arann business throughout the years, incorporating significant investment in facilities to support passenger numbers in the excess of 300K in the peak of the boom.

Galway Airport continued this support throughout the recent Ash Crisis and the current Examinership process.

Galway Airport looks forward to working with Aer Arann and the new Investors in the provision of air services from Galway.

Galway Airport will be impacted by the significant write down of Aer Arann debt as a result of the Examinership process and will have to manage this impact over the coming months.

Throughout the Examinership process the Board of Galway Airport acted in accordance with Corporate Governance best practice and refute the earlier Statement by Padraic O'Ceidigh, that the Board of Galway Airport voted to liquidate Aer Arann.
