Regulation (EC) 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council came into effect on the 17th February 2005. The intention of this Regulation is to reduce the invonvenience caused to air passengers and establish common rules on compensation and assistance to passengers who may incur delays, cancellations, are denied boarding or downgraded.
