In compliance with the implementation of EC Regulation 1107/2006 (Rights of Disabled Persons and Persons with Reduced Mobility when Travelling by Air) and the Department of Transport's objectives, it is the aim of Galway Airport, "that all passenger transport providers should provide the highest possible degree of accessibility, subject to available resources and competing priorities and rules of practicality."
Galway Airport is dedicated to providing accessibility for people with reduced mobility. In order to deliver the most effective service to passengers who require special services, passengers with reduced mobility should contact and notify their airline, travel agent or tour operator with details of their assistance requirements at least 48 hours in advance of the departure of their flight.
The PRM contact point is now operational in Car Park 1. More information on this service to follow shortly.
Galway Airport welcomes any feedback on the levels of service provided and will ensure that the feedback received will be passed on to the relevant bodies.
Galway Airport provides the following facilities (which are continuously monitored) for passengers with reduced mobility:
A pick-up and set-down area is available outside the Terminal entrance.
Specially reserved easy access car parking spaces are available in Car Park 1.
These spaces are well signed and have been marked out to the recommended width to accommodate wheelchairs. In addition each space has been treated with a special non slip surface to provide easy movement and access for customers.
Passengers using the car parking spaces for wheelchair use are charged the Standard car parking rate.

Should special assistance be needed boarding your flight, please contact your airline in advance of your arrival at Galway Airport.
The Terminal Building at Galway Airport is easily accessible.There are toilet facilities,both Landside (pre security screening) and Airside (post security screening/Departures Lounge),for people with disabilities. All standard and disabled facilities are clearly indicated by directional and overhead signage.
The airport directional and information signage is clearly placed, well lit and uses optimum colour contrast to ensure everyone can read them correctly.
All passengers must pass through the security screening area before entering the Departures Lounge. Such a search may be carried out by hand or by using hand-held detectors. If required, a private search area away from the main area can be provided.
