Connemara Famed for its rugged beauty, an hour's drive from Galway City will take you to some of Ireland's most remote and beautiful spots- visit Clifden, Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey and many other scenic areas. Connemara has a wealth of venues and attractions on offer that vary from archaeological sites, dramatic coastlines to the many small villages dotted around this magical region.
Clifden being Connemara's largest town, is often referred to as "the Capital of Connemara". It is located on the Owenglen River where it flows into Clifden Bay. The town is linked to Galway city by the N59 and is a popular tourist destination for those touring Connemara.
Clifden has many fine restaurants, pubs and cafes. You'll find excellent food and drink and some great places to stay while you are there. Clifden has a wide variety of quality stores, clothes shops, art galleries, pottery and jewellery shops making it an excellent shopping experience.

Situated in the West of Ireland in County Galway, Connemara National Park covers some 2,957 hectares of scenic mountains, expanses of bogs, heaths, grasslands and woodlands.

Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Garden

"No.1 Visitor Attraction in the West of Ireland"
This garden was one of the last walled gardens to be built during the Victorian period in Ireland and is the only garden in Ireland that is located in the middle of a bog.Visit the Abbey which was built as a Castle and the first stone was laid in 1867. The on-site Gothic Church has internal columns made of marble from the four provinces of Ireland. A truly memorable experience.
